3. Description of the offer

We publish local news and a podcast and sell three advertising placements described on our services page: the Valley Community Board, the Seasonal Podcast Series Sponsorship, and the Valley Lattice Partnership, each at its published price.

4. Eligibility & user obligations

Advertisers must provide accurate business and contact information, and creative material that is lawful and does not infringe another party's rights.

5. Bookings, orders & payments

A booking is confirmed once we send a written booking summary and payment is arranged. Full detail on withdrawing from a booking is set out in the Payment & Refund Policy and Returns Policy below, and in the long-form advertising terms and cancellation & refund policy. No physical goods are shipped under these terms.

6. Intellectual property

Site content, the Hoarfrost Media name and its visual identity belong to CANADIAN MILITARY FAMILY MAGAZINE LTD.. Advertisers retain ownership of the creative material they supply and grant us a licence to publish it for the agreed run.

7. Acceptable use

You may not submit unlawful, misleading or infringing content, or attempt to disrupt the operation of the site.

Accuracy & availability. We take reasonable care to keep pricing and placement details accurate, but services, schedules and prices may change; the final scope of a booking is confirmed in your booking summary.

Results. The outcome of an advertising placement depends on factors outside our control; we do not guarantee a particular result from any placement.

Liability. To the extent permitted by law, CANADIAN MILITARY FAMILY MAGAZINE LTD.'s liability arising from your use of the site or a booking is capped at the amount paid for the placement concerned.

Payment & Refund Policy

Scope. This section covers payments made for the three advertising placements on our rate card.

Eligibility. A refund request is considered when a booked placement did not run as confirmed, or when you withdraw before the placement's creative approval step.

How to request. Write to [email protected] or call +1 613-867-2106 with your booking reference and the reason for the request.

Processing. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

Non-refundable cases. A placement that has already run in full, or where creative was approved and the run proceeded as agreed, is not eligible for a refund. Full detail is in our long-form cancellation & refund policy.

Returns Policy

How to cancel. Contact us at [email protected] or +1 613-867-2106 during our working days and hours.

Returns windows. Cancelling before creative approval is free of charge. Cancelling after creative has been approved but before the run starts may carry a partial charge, consistent with the refund section above.

Rescheduling. We offer rescheduling to a later run date as an alternative to cancelling, where our editorial calendar allows it.

Returnss by us. If we are unable to run a confirmed placement, we offer a full refund or a rebooking at your choice. Full detail is in our long-form cancellation & refund policy.

8. Third-party links

Our site may link to third-party sites, including advertiser websites. We are not responsible for the content of sites we do not operate.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada applicable within it.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the date at the top of this page shows the latest revision.
